In Iran gathering and demonstrating is legal by the text of constiutional law But as government afraids of free opinions, police always attacks to INDEPNDENT movements and arrest people and claim: “you did not get the permission for your gathering!”.
Yesterday, some of our friends gathered in the Daneshjoo park - central tehran - to emphasis their “NO WAR” and “RIGHT OF GATHERING” demands. You have to consider that “NO WAR” motto is used instead of “DOWN TO ISRAEL, LONG LIVE HIZBOLLAH” which is a official motto.
About 100 people were participated and passengers took the booklets against WAR. The main mottos were:
- stop the war against humanity
- Bread, Peace, Freedom
- Telaviv workers ! Strike ! and the war machine will stop
- No WAR !
- Stop terror and violence
- I'm against Imperialism, Fundumentalism and Terror

Some people wore red t-shirts with the “bread, peace and freedom” on it, As you can guess from the RED colors and mottos, the gathering had finished by singing International and parading in the park.
There were risk of arrests and batons but I'm glad that the gathering finished in peace and calm. Maybe the Islamic regime did not understood the true meaning of it or maybe it prefered to accept the “right of gathering” when people are using it in an “anti USA” theme.
And the last word: There is a big diffrence between this one and official/governmental gatherings. In this one nobody is paid, nobidy gets profits, nobody passes the university entrance exams because of participating in this one, etc. It was a brave act from the brave people who tried to defend their own rights specially when talking about “freedom of gathering” and “I am against fundumentalism”

In Iran wearing hijab is obligatory. It means every woman in Iran have to wear Chador or Scarf+Mano (kind of long, large dress).
This phenomen have been a controversory issue all time after the Islamic revolution because most of the women (specially younger generation) doese not beleive in this kind of obligatory hijab so they doese not take it serious. In streets there are some police whos function is arresting Bad-Hijabs and making them wear it tigh so no body part or no hair may be seen.
The story was like this until we heard about the “Islamic-Hijab-Show”s ad in newspapers and governmental controlled radio an Tv. Islamic regime had lots of propaganda. They were saying “At last we designed some islamic hijab for our good muslim people who are interested also in fashion !”. What a great Idea ! Lets have a look…

wow… sexy ! don't you this so ? this reminds me of 1001 nights stories.

As you can see, no male audience is allowed in the show !!! Although there are going to be “Islamic Hijab”s !

Sad part for me ? They claim Hijab is for womens own safety. Hijab helps muslim women not to attract mens attention. Know think about this orange / flowerish Manto ! This will attract more mens attention than an ordinary T-shirt and jeans.

I think these desings sucks ! If they want to be good muslims, there is no need to this kind of “out bra”s (are these jackets?) and if they want to be sexy, attractive and seductive what is this joke with Islam ?!
Have a look at this Mini-Chador !

In the entrance's top you can read “My homelands women” ! I think this is ridiculus because if my homelands women are muslim they do not wear this kind of fashion/funny hijab and if they are not strict muslims, they wear ordinary cloths or non Islamic fashions.

Manijeh Hekmat is one of the good Iranian movie directors. She have been directed the “Prison of women” and some other great movies and I like her works. For directing any movie - as any other thing - you have to get a license from government and Manijeh Hekmat did not got one for her new movie. What did she do ? Instead of saying “OK ! I'll do other another job” she said “OK ! I'll do another job, I'll sell cigarettes in the street in front of the Islamic guidance ministry from now on !”.
I think this a marvelous idea. I have to go there and chat with her and buy some cigarettes and start smoking :D

In Iran government filters internet sites in 2 ways First they filter some urls so you can not type'em in your browsers and visit them.
The seccond method is making it impossible to search for some phrases in internet. for example you can visit a site with the url of “http://www.gettingpregnant.co.uk/” but you can not search for the term “pregnant” in Internet !
I'm working on a project to find all censored words. This is going to be a silly / funny list, some known words are

condom
annmarie (female name!)
chandice (female name!)
chastity
bath
belly
dita
ebony

I'll send a more detailed list when the project is done.

Mohseni Eje'i (Ministry of Information) yester said that we have 3 kind of NGOs (non-gervermental organizations) in Iran. First part is the “usefull NGOs”, the seccond part is “Weak NGOs” and the third part is “American NGOs”. This is an old trick in which government trys to say “anybody who critices us, is simulated and protected by foriengers (specially USA and Israel)”.
In Iran NGOs are doing good. We try to shape our society in a better way and educate people about human and civil rights but government dose not like this.
NGOs speccially started in Khatami's era and know Ahmadinejads government sees them as a treat.
