As you can see I have added a PEACE FOR IRAN logo designed by RickB. To be honest at first glance I wanted to ignore this logo but on second toughths, I realized that I have to use the logo but ask RickB to change it. Why ?
As you can see, the logo contains a Peace in Farsi and English and a flag of Iran. But this is not MY FLAG.
As most flags, Iran's flag contains three colors:

  • Green. two interpretations: 1-color of life, 2-this is an Islamic country.
  • White. Peace
  • Red. Iranians are ready to die for their flag / country.

I am not a Nationalist and I do not insist that “we are raedy to die for our flag” or anything. Instead I want to talk about the Symbol in the middle of the flag.
In the white area (in the middle of the flag there is a symbol). This symbol represents the eras of Iran's flag. The ancient one had a lion and a sun in it. Have a look youself:

This is not an Monarchy sign but a sign of all eras and many groups agree on it (even communist parties).
After the 1979 revolution, the new ideological regime changed the logo to this one:

It is a combination of Allah (In Farsi letters) and some other symbols (for justice and sword and …). I do not like that it represents ONLY this ISLAMIC REGIME which tortures peoples and censors everything. I do not stand in front of this flag and do not believe in it. my PEACE sign does not have an ISLAMIC REGIMES sign on it. I want peace but without supporting this regime. I myself prefer a simple three color flag, without any ideology on it. I want a flag without the Lion, without Allah and without the Swastika. This does not mean I am against the Lion and Allah but it means my flag should mean Iran and not ISLAMIC REGIME or any other ideology.
RickB ? Are you interested in changing your Islamic Regime's flag to Iran's flag ?

In my Farsi weblog (FreeKeyboard.net) I have a section called “Stupid Filtering” in which I blog about the website which are filtered STUPIDLY in Iran.
OK! All of this Internet Blocking is STUPID but some of them are MORE STUPID and writing about hem gains attension.
This times our Stupid Filtering goese to FreeOS.com; The Resource Center for Free Operating Systems.

Yes! This is FreeOS.com and it is FILTERED. I mean when you type FreeOS in your browser you get:

Why? hehe.. you do not have a right to ask “wky?”. But I can guess. The authorities should have thought that “FreeOS” is something like “FreeIran” or “FreeUS” and concluded that it should be filtered. Poor guys.

I think this article worths reading Iran Feels Pinch As Major Banks Curtail Business.

Hello Jadi,
[...]
My question is this. I have read that Baha'i's are persecuted in Iran and that the government of Iran does not allow them the same rights and freedoms of other Iranian citizens. So, how do the younger people of Iran feel about this? Do they agree that Baha'i's should be treated like this or do they disagree with their governments treatment of them? Also, is the general public aware of how the Baha'i's are treated in Iran?
I really hope you are OK with me asking these question. Thank you.
Remi

Hi Remi,
[...]
I know about Bahai's and their Ideas and their situation. I've never had an Baha'i friend but met some Baha'i people. I think their situation in Iran is one of the worst things in this country and one of my biggest shames as an Iranian. They can not work for the government, can not study in the universities and as you said, they do not have same rights as me.
I can not talk on behalf of Iranians but me myself am against this situation. I think people should be free to choose their ideas and be equal with each other, independent of their ideas.
Let me add something more. When talking with even pro-Islamic people, they accept that this kind of treat is not fair, good or even an Islamic rule. During Prophet Muhammad's era, people had the right to talk about their ideas and live on their ideas (the pro-Islamics say) so we can not accept the situation of Baha'i people in Iran.
In Iran we have kind of freedom of religion but only for Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians (Ancient Iranian). These religions have their parliament members and can perform their prayers and rules. But no other religion (or atheistic believes) can exist here.

I have been very busy these past few days; not with work but with thinking and ideas. We had a very bad week in the organization. I did not go to the office on Thursday because of some private thinkgs to do at home but found out in the evening that “ICTRC is closed by authorities”. Wow… That is my NGO and I work there. It was also in the news that the authorities have come to our organizations office and closed it. Then they went to our manager's house, and investigated his house and took some books and other stuff.
So right now I am jobless :D Being jobless is not bad; the bad part is our NGO has been shut down. We were educating other NGOs about their rights and the way to utilize resources.
But let's finish with the good news. Do you remember the arrest of 33 women? All of them are free right now. On heavy bails (Around 200'000'000 Tomans which is aournd 200'000 Euro) but at least they are free for the Iranian new year ceremonies. We were going to celebrate the new year in front of their prison otherwise.
We have to wait for many trials. Our boss, our organization and these brave women. I have to find a job too. Maybe I will do freelance tech support / web design for other NGOs. I also started to translate an English book into Farsi :) I am an natural born translator I think.

After one year of debate on “To publish or not to publish 50000 Rials bill”, they have published it last week. Some economists argued “By publishing this, you will raise the inflation”; But I think when the price of a house is doubled during the last year, it is logical to publish new bills. Maybe the more logical act would be eliminating some zeros from this weak Rial.
Anyway, This is our 50000 Rial bill which equals to less than 5 Euros.

For me, this piece of paper is more like a Political/Ideological Placard than a bill. It shows a map of Iran with the “Persian Gulf” written on it. In addition it has an Nuclear Energy sign and a saying of Prophet Mohammad about knowledge on it. I bet the other side includes a photo of Khomeini.
